Yan Xiuzhong, a 52-year-old male practitioner from Shuangxing Village, Town of Dasizhan, Boli County in Heilongjiang Province, was taken from home by the police in March 2000 because he wrote a letter to clarify the truth to Deputy County Leader Li Guofu. Later he was taken to Suihua Forced Labor Camp. He started a hunger strike on October 20, 2001, and died on October 29.
