At 9AM on October 1 (National Day of China), Falun Gong practitioners in Sydney, Australia, assembled to practice exercises at the park behind the Chinese Consulate in Sydney. Practitioners, following the melodious exercise music, practiced all 5 sets of the exercises till 11AM. Afterwards, practitioners promoted Dafa in front of the Chinese Consulate. The approved site for promoting Dafa on October 1 was the Sydney Opera Theater. Because it was during the Olympics, practitioners promoting Dafa at the Chinese Consulate were worried the police would not approve this area. However, everything went smoothly and the police approved the application and even supported the practitioners' activities.

About 100 practitioners assembled at the Chinese Consulate. Along both sides of the road in front of the Chinese Consulate, practitioners displayed large banners with Chinese or English words and posters with slogans. There were various slogans:

"Falun Dafa"; "Jiang Zemin is the chief leader in the suppression of Falun Gong";

"China, release Falun Gong practitioners"; "Why persecute peaceful cultivation practitioners?" "Jiang Zemin has violated the Constitution and people's human rights, and caused human morals to degenerate"; "Ask the Chinese Government to stop the violent crackdown on Falun Gong by Jiang Zemin and his gang".

Some practitioners held pictures or posters of Master Li Hongzhi and Falun Dafa being praised in different parts of the world. Others held the colorful posters of Master Li teaching the exercises. Some practitioners held photos of practitioners abused in China. Some practitioners actively distributed information and introduced Dafa to people passing by. Many practitioners held small triangular flags with words like: "Falun Dafa Is Good", "Falun Dafa", "Truth-Compassion-Forbearance". The music "Pu-du" and "Ji-shi" playing in the background was moving and melodious, which made the atmosphere quite harmonious and touching. This attracted many onlookers. Some people tried to record this precious event by videotaping or taking photos of the activities. A Westerner passing by raised his hand and said "Freedom to Falun Dafa." Many drivers in cars passing by honked their horns to show their support.

During Springtime in Australia, the weather is very pleasant and clear, and this contributed to the especially special and harmonious atmosphere of the site where practitioners were promoting Dafa. It is an irony that October 1^st is China's national holiday, yet there was no Chinese flag at the top of the Chinese Consulate building. This seems to hint as if Jiang Zemin's actions had brought down the Communist Party and the entire nation.

After going through a day of promoting Dafa, practitioners recognized that the integration of their own cultivation, the process of Fa-Rectification, and promoting Dafa is "assisting the teacher in the human world." All practitioners greatly cherish the predestined opportunity to practice cultivation in Dafa and therefore, are willing to take action to validate Dafa.
