(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces. According to this report, 8 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention, and at least 5 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Zhangjiachuan County, Gansu Province] Ms. Li Wenwen and Four Other Falun Gong Practitioners Secretly Sentenced
Around December 20, 2012, the Zhangjiachuan Court of Tianshui secretly sentenced five practitioners without informing their families. Not informing families or the public about upcoming trials is a technique commonly practiced by the communist regime. It enables them to more easily continue their illegal activities and control people. Mr. Xu Baoguo was sentenced to five years in prison; Mr. Hong Xiaolin, four and a half years; Ms. Li Wenwen and Mr. Hong Liang, four years; Mr. Ding Xijun, three years. Ms. Li Wenwen appealed to the Tianshui Court, which upheld the original decision.
Practitioners of all ages are robbed of their lives – their ability to support their families, care for their children and elderly, and have any kind of stability. Mr. Xu Baoguo, in his 30s, lives in Dongguan Village, Longshan Town, Zhangjiachuan. Mr. Hong Xiaolin, 54, is a doctor at the Zhangjiachuan Second People's Hospital. Mr. Ding Xijun, in his 40s, works in Zhangjiachuan Broadcast Bureau. The three practitioners are being held in the Zhangjiachuan Detention Center. Mr. Hong Liang, 47, an officer with the Malu Police Station in Zhangjiachuan, is being detained in the Qingshui County Detention Center.
Ms. Li Wenwen, 40 and Ms. Xu Dongmei, about 50, are from Dongguan Village, Longshan Town, Zhangjiachuan. They are being held in the Maiji District Detention Center in Tianshui, Gansu Province.

2. [Chaoyang, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chen Guilan and Ms. Wang Yanmei Arrested
Ms. Chen Guilan and Ms. Wang Yanmei were arrested by the Chaoyang patrols for distributing Shen Yun DVDs on the morning of March 3, 2013. They were transferred to the Criminal Case Division of Qianjin Branch of Chaoyang Police Department. The director of Qianjin Branch sentenced Ms. Chen Guilan to 15 days' criminal detention. Ms. Wang Yanmei was sentenced to ten days' administration detention. They were sent in the Xidayingzi Detention Center in Chaoyang.

4. [Ruian, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Chen Hemei Arrested
Ms. Chen Hemei from Mayu Town, Ruian, was arrested for telling a plainclothes policeman the facts about Falun Gong on February 28, 2013. She is now in the Ruian Detention Center.
5. [Chengdu, Sichuan Province] Ms. Tong Mingzhen Arrested
On the afternoon of March 2, 2013, Ms. Tong Mingzhen from the Jinniu District of Chengdu was arrested for clarifying the truth. Her daughter went to the police station to seek her release, but nothing came of it.
6. [Wei County, Hebei Province] Mr. Cai Jinzhuan Arrested on the Night of March 3, 2013
7. [Shenyang, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Zhengang Missing
Mr. Zhang Zhengang, 70, lives in the Shenhe District of Shenyang. On the afternoon of March 4, 2013, he left home and, as of this report, has not returned. His family members are searching for him.
8. [Ningbo, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Bao Shumin Persecuted
Ms. Bao Shumin and another fellow practitioner have been detained in the Moganshan Drug Rehabilitation Center since 2008.
