(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 9 provinces. In this report, 11 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 14 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Deng Huaiying Tortured to Death and Relatives Watched by Police
Ms. Deng Huaiying died in the Haidian Detention Center on May 15, 2013, as a result of torture. When her classmates went to Beijing No. 999 Hospital to see her body, they were turned away by officials. Police agents at the Haidian Detention Center had her cremated secretly on May 28. The police recently began to watch her relatives and friends, both at their residences and via their phones.

2. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Chen Haiyan Arrested
Police illegally arrested Ms. Chen Haiyan from the Jiangning District on May 30, 2013. Since then her whereabouts have been unknown.

Ms. Li Xiu is being held in the Jiaozhou City Detention Center.

4. [Beijing] Ms. Jia Yanru Tortured at Gucheng Detention Center
Police arrested Ms. Jia Yanru on May 6, 2013, and took her to the Gucheng Detention Center in the Shijingshan District. Both her legs were swollen due to torture. It was said that Ms. Jia would be transferred on June 6.
5. [Panzhihua City, Yunnan Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Wang Huiyun and three other practitioners were arrested when they went to the Gucheng District to clarify the truth about Falun Gong on May 28, 2013. Ms. Wang Huiyun and Ms. Zhou Lingxun have been detained since then.
6. [Lincang City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Zhao Mei Detained
Domestic Security Division agents arrested Ms. Zhao Mei on the morning of May 30, 2013. The agents ransacked her home and held her in a detention center.
7. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Ran Xiaoman Sentenced to Eight and a Half Years
Police arrested Ms. Ran Xiaoman in Chuxiong Prefecture in December 2012. She was sentenced to eight and a half years of imprisonment on May 28, 2013.
8. [Lufeng County, Yunnan Province] Officials Sentence Four Practitioners
Lufeng County Court officials tried four practitioners from Kunming City on the morning of May 30, 2013, including Ms. Peng Xueping and Ms. Liu Cuixian. They were sentenced to 7 to 10 years in prison.
9. [Feng County, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Xin Tanglu Arrested and His Whereabouts Unknown
Police arrested Mr. Xin Tanglu from Tangzang Township in Feng County on May 19, 2013. His current whereabouts are unknown.
10. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Mr. Cheng Dong Detained
Police arrested Mr. Cheng Dong from Chongqing when he told people about Falun Gong in the Kunming Development Zone on the morning of May 29, 2013. Because Mr. Cheng was staying at his daughter's home, the agents ransacked it. They then went to his home in Chongqing and confiscated many Falun Gong materials. Mr. Cheng is being held in a detention center.
11. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] Ms. Li Xiaojing Facing Trial
Shunhe District Court officials planned to try 67-year-old Ms. Li Xiaojing on the morning of June 6, 2013.
Ms. Li was detained in the Shibalihe Women's Forced Labor Camp for two years beginning in 2002. When she and Ms. Hou Surong distributed Falun Gong materials on the afternoon of September 7, 2012, Rong Jianhua and other Shuntianhe District police agents arrested them. Ms. Li has been held in the Kaifeng City Detention Center ever since.

12. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chen Xinchun Detained
When Ms. Chen Xinchun from the Xian'an District distributed Falun Gong materials on June 1, 2013, Yongan Police Station agents arrested her. She has been held in the Xianan Detention Center since then.
13. [Gangu County, Gansu Province] Ms. Mao Xiulan Arrested
Four police officers went to the home of Ms. Mao Xiulan in Dashi Town on the afternoon of May 29, 2013, and took her into custody.
14. [Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] Couple in Their 70s Arrested
Mr. Li and his wife, Ms. Zhang, both in their 70s, live in Xinxiangzhou. When they told others about Falun Gong at the Xiangzhou Computer Center on the morning on May 24, 2013, Lai Haizhong and other Domestic Security Division agents arrested them. Agents also ransacked their home, confiscating a photo of Falun Gong's founder and Falun Gong books. The couple returned home that afternoon.

15. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Kun Imprisoned Since 2009
Jiaojie Town Police Station agents arrested Mr. Wang Kun, 41, and Ms. Zhu Yumei when they distributed Falun Gong materials on July 28, 2008. Acheng District Court officials sentenced Mr. Wang to 8 years in prison. He has been in Daqing Prison since July 2, 2009. Ms. Zhu was also sentenced to 8 years and was sent to Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison.
16. [Baiquan County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Xu Zhi Mistreated in Daqing Prison
Mr. Xu Zhi, 38, lives in Ligong Village, Yongqin Township. After being arrested on January 25, 2000, he was sent to a labor camp for one year.
Yongqin Town Police Agents arrested Mr. Xu on September 19, 2007, and ransacked his home. They confiscated a cell phone, MP4, cash, DVD, and truth-clarification materials. They took him to the county Criminal Police Division and then sent him to the Daoli District Detention Center in Harbin City on September 30.
Daoli Court officials sentenced Mr. Xu to 7 years in April 2008. Officials sent him to Hulan Prison on May 14, 2008, and transferred him to the Daqing Prison on July 8, 2008.
Officials put Mr. Xu in solitary confinement in October and November 2009. He was handcuffed in an iron chair for five days.
17. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Weiguo Imprisoned
Mr. Li Weiguo, 60, lives in the Nangang District. Beixin Police Station officers arrested him and Ms. Zhang Ye on the evening of July 9, 2010. Daowai District court officials sentenced him to 7 years and took him to Daqing Prison.
Officers from the Political Security Office of Daowai Police Department arrested Mr. Li and ransacked his home on the evening of November 9, 1999. They confiscated all of his Falun Gong books and materials, as well as over 5,000 yuan in cash. They also extorted 7,000 yuan from the family and sentenced him to forced labor for two years.
Nangang District police agents arrested Mr. Li and his wife, Ms. Zhao Fengyun, when they put up Falun Gong materials on the evening of May 13, 2001. Officials sentenced him to Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City for a term of three years. Ms. Zhao was sent to Wanjia Forced Labor Camp. She died on February 27, 2003, as a result of torture.
18. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liao Xiaolan and Mr. Huang Dingcheng Facing Trial
Police arrested Ms. Yang Hualian, Mr. Huang Dingcheng, Ms. Liao Xiaolan, Mr. Xiao Bo, and other practitioners in December 2012. Ms. Liao and Mr. Huang are being held at the Guanghan City Detention Center until trial.
