(Minghui.org) Over 100,000 people have filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist regime, since the end of May 2015.

The people are urging the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Supreme People's Court to bring Jiang to justice for his abuse of power in orchestrating the persecution of Falun Gong in China.

The complaints charge Jiang with illegal imprisonment, deprivation of Chinese citizens' constitutional right to freedom of belief, and abuse of power, among other crimes.

Jiang launched the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, and created the 610 Office, an office with the power to override the police and judicial systems to carry out his directives.

The following cases of arrest and torture of practitioners are from Beijing and Harbin, Heilongjiang Province.

Ms. Zhao Xiuhuan Detained

Ms. Zhao Xiuhuan, 60, from Beijing, was arrested at home by officers from the Shijingshan Police Department and local police station on July 28, 2015, for suing Jiang.

The police ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, two printers, and approximately 80 informational brochures about the persecution of Falun Gong. Ms. Zhao is detained at the Shijingshan Detention Center.

Zhao Xiuhuan

Ms. Zhao was arrested several times in the past for practicing Falun Gong. During the 2000 Chinese New Year, local police officers, to keep Ms. Zhao from going to the Tiananmen Square to protest the persecution, illegally arrested and detained her for 40 days.

A year after Jiang launched the persecution of Falun Gong, Ms. Zhao was arrested again and detained for 10 days.

Her third arrest happened in 2002. She was arrested for making informational materials and talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was sentenced to a seven-year prison term.

When imprisoned in a women’s prison in 2004, Ms. Zhao was once forced to split her legs into a straight line against the wall by prison guard Chen Jing. As a result, she was severely injured, nearly passed out, had blood in her urine, and could barely walk.

Guards also forced her to bend at the waist to 90 degrees while two of them sat on her back. She was sometimes forced to stand for a long time and was monitored by inmates.

Ms. Liu Li’s Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Liu Li was supposed to be released on August 6, 2015, after being illegally detained for 15 days at the Harbin City No. 3 Detention Center, for suing Jiang. However, without reason, she was transferred by officers from the Minzhu Police Station in Shuangcheng City on that day.

Her whereabouts are now unknown.

The Shuangcheng Police Department and Harbin City Police Department launched large-scale arrests of practitioners who sued Jiang from July 11 to 23, 2015. At least 70 practitioners, including Ms. Liu Li, were arrested.

Ms. Liu was arrested on July 21 by officers, including Sui Zhongxiang and Xu Xingfu from the Minzhu Police Station, Shuangcheng Police Department, and Harbin Police Department. The police ransacked her home, and they confiscated computers, Falun Gong books, DVDs, and paper currency amounting to 1,000 yuan because they had information about Falun Gong printed on them.

While at the Minzhu Police Station, Ms. Liu talked to officers about the persecution of Falun Gong. They then beat Ms. Liu and forced her fingerprints onto some documents.

Ms. Liu tried to escape the next day but did not succeed. She was then taken to the Harbin City No. 3 Detention Center.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.

The persecution has led to the deaths of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners over the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law now allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
