(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 5 were illegally arrested.

1. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Li Heping Arrested
Mr. Li Heping was arrested by officers from the Baishan City Police Department on September 26, 2016.
2. [Tianjin] Mr. Zhang Jun on Hunger Strike in Detention Center
Mr. Zhang Jun from the Luojiangxili Residential Community, Nankai District, was arrested and taken to the Wanxing Police Station, Nankai District, because he had distributed informational materials about Falun Gong. His home was ransacked. He was transferred to the Nankai Detention Center. He is on a hunger strike to protest his arrest and the persecution.
3. [Chaohu City, Anhui Province] Ms. Li Wenzhen Detained
Ms. Li Wenzhen, 67, retired worker from the Chaohu City Power Supply Bureau, was arrested by officers from the Chaohu City Police Department on the morning of September 28, 2016. She was taken to Hefei.
4. [Rushan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Song Shengyu Detained
Ms. Song Shengyu was arrested on the afternoon of September 30, 2016 by officers from the Rushan City Domestic Security Division and the Shangyejie Police Station for talking to people and distributing materials about Falun Gong. She was taken to the Rushan City Detention Center for 10 days of detention.

5. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Lin Yande Sentenced to Eight-and-a-Half-Years in Prison
Mr. Lin Yande was sentenced to an eight-and-a-half-year prison term.
6. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Xiong Meiying Detained
Ms. Xiong Meiying, 68, retired nurse from Xinjian District, was arrested on September 21, 2016 for talking to people about Falun Gong. She is held in the Changbei Detention Center No. 1.
7. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wei Xiubian Suffers Cerebral Thrombosis in Prison
Ms. Wei Xiubian from Gucheng County was sentenced to a five-and-a-half-year prison term and taken to Shijiazhuang in May 2016. Authorities did not inform her family. She had been arrested in May 2015.
Her blood pressure was recently high and she had symptoms of cerebral thrombosis. She was taken to a hospital.
8. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yuan Qingai Taken Into Custody
Ms. Yuan Qingai, a teacher from the Middle School No. 4 in Hengshui City, was arrested by the Taocheng District police on October 1, 2016 when she distributed informational materials about Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a few of her Falun Gong books. It was reported that she is held in the Hepingxilu Police Station.
9. [Li County, Hunan Province] Ms. Xu Lian and Ms. Liu Hua Officially Placed Under Arrest
Ms. Xu Lian and Ms. Liu Hua were officially placed under arrested on September 23, 2016. Both practitioners remain in the Baiheshan Detention Center in Changde City.
10. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Yang Tianliu Again Arrested
Ms. Yang Tianliu, 63, was arrested at home by officers from the Changsha County Police Department on the morning of September 28, 2016. The police confiscated a computer.
11. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Five Practitioners Held in Lanzhou City Detention Center No. 1
Five practitioners are currently held in the Lanzhou City Detention Center No. 1.
Three are held in team No. 13, including Ms. Ma Fulan from Tianzhu County, Ms. Liu Lei from Xigu District and Ms. Fan Jiangping from Chengguan District.
Two are held in team No 14. They are Ms. Yue Puling from Honggu District andMs. Liu Wanqiu from Xigu District.

12. [Chaoyang County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xie Baofeng and Ms. Li Guixia Detained
Ms. Xie Baofeng and Ms. Li Guixia from the Balipu Residential Community were arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong on September 30, 2016. They were taken to a detention center by Liang Shiwu, head of the Domestic Security Division, and other officers. Ms. Li has high blood pressure.
