(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhu Zhinong was sentenced to six years in prison by Shunqing District Court in Nanchong City in late October 2016.

He was charged with “using a cult organization to undermine law enforcement”–a common charge used by the Chinese Communist Party to arbitrarily arrest Falun Gong practitioners in its persecution of the spiritual practice.

Mr. Zhu, 61, was arrested one year ago by officers from Shunqing District Domestic Security Division on October 29, 2015. He was monitored while making phone calls to inform people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police confiscated his three cellphones and later ransacked his home. Mr. Zhu was taken to Nanchong City Detention Center.

Under the orders of the Shunqing District 610 Office, the Nanchong Evening News published an article defaming Mr. Zhu on November 4, 2016. The 610 Office also sent this report to cellphone users via state-controlled phone companies.
