(Minghui.org) Mr. Yu Yanjie was tried by Beijing's Daxing District Court on November 23, 2016. Only two of his family members were allowed to attend the trial. His attorney entered a not guilty plea. The trial ended quickly and the court could not reach a verdict.
Mr. Yu is a teacher at Lixian Town No. 2 Elementary School. He was reported to the authorities by the school principle for talking about Falun Gong in class.
Officers from the Lixian Town Police Station then arrested him on June 29, 2016. He was taken to Dawa Detention Center where he is still being held.
The school cut off his wages after his arrest, and his family has no other source of income.
Mr. Yu was once detained at Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp for two years in 2007. He was also held for five days in November 2015 for filing a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong.
