(Minghui.org) Gongzhuling Prison, located in Siping City, is notorious for torturing and brainwashing Falun Gong practitioners. One of its divisions used to be called the “Office for Attacking Strongholds” and was later renamed to the “Education Section.” This division, tasked with forcing practitioners to renounce their belief, has solitary confinement cells, a “strict control” team, assembly training team, prison entry team, and other specialized groups.
Practitioners who refuse to give up their belief are handled by the strict control team or assembly training team. Torture methods include sitting on “small stools” from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day. Guards order inmates to beat practitioners if they move.
Relentless Torture
Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Zhang Beiqi, Mr. Yuan Hongbiao, Mr. Fu Renjiang, Mr. Rong Wencheng, Mr. Zhang Yinsen, Mr. Zheng Lijun, and others, were tortured relentlessly for over a year in this prison. Their physical condition deteriorated. Mr. Cai Fuchen was tortured to death.
In addition, the practitioners are deprived of sleep. Anyone who falls asleep is shocked with electric batons. Inmates are ordered to use any method to make practitioners write statements renouncing Falun Gong.
A group of practitioners was taken to the strict control team and Education Section on May 17, 2012. The guards ordered inmate Bao Yu to beat practitioner Mr. Zhang Beiqi, causing ankle injuries that affected his ability to walk.
Practitioners Mr. Zhao Guoxing, Mr. Fu Hongwei, and Mr. Yang Chunman were tortured on a “death bed” for almost a month and shocked with electric batons. Then, they had to sit on “small stools” for over five months.
Lu Chuanbao, a member of the Education Section, along with inmate Wu Qi and others, hanged up practitioner Mr. Zhang Yinsen. They shocked his head and body with electric batons for over an hour. Mr. Zhang could not raise his arms for three months afterward.
The practitioners in this group include Mr. Zhang Beiqi, Mr. Zhao Guoxing, Mr. Fu Hongwei, Mr. Yang Chunman, Mr. Yang Baosen, Mr. Zhang Yinsen, Mr. Zheng Lijun, Mr. Rong Wencheng, and Mr. Ma Ping.
Brainwashing Sessions
The Education Section forces practitioners to watch propaganda videos and listen to staff members attacking slander Falun Gong.
When practitioners Mr. Wu Yajun and Mr. Yang Guoshu refused to attend a brainwashing session, they were taken to the Assembly Training Team and had to sit on a small round bucket for over six months. Mr. Wu was made to sit on with his legs folded, with his body and legs tied up with ropes for 25 hours. He could not raise his head or straighten his back during this torture.
Mr. Zhu Jifa was found to have Falun Gong teachings written in his notebook. He was held by the Assembly Training Team for over two months and tortured. He was released after he developed inflammation of the gallbladder.
Practitioners who wrote statements renouncing Falun Gong were moved to other prison wards; those assigned to the forced labor section were made to work from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day. Any prisoner who does not complete his quota is shocked with electric batons.
