(Minghui.org) I used to work as a security officer for our local Neighborhood Committee. My job was to monitor Falun Dafa practitioners, but I didn't perform the tasks as required by my superiors.
Instead, I ended up reading two important books: the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and Zhuan Falun.
Refusing to Report on Practitioners
I was required to attend a one-week session to learn tricks to use against Dafa practitioners. My job was to monitor and report on them. It was stressed that whoever had the book Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party would be severely punished. I realized then that this was no ordinary book; otherwise, why would the Chinese Communist Party be afraid of it?
I know some Dafa practitioners and feel that they are all good people. They are kind and don't do anything bad. So I don't abide by the policies from my superiors. I have never found fault with practitioners and never interrogated them.
When I have to report practitioners to the officers a level above me, I usually say that they are elderly or have illnesses and don't go outside. I sometimes make up stories to protect them.
I am in my 60s and like to read. I have my own independent thinking. Since the CCP came to power in 1949, it has launched so many political campaigns, ruined so many families, and caused the deaths of tens of millions of people. The regime has totally damaged China's traditional culture and the country's 5,000 years of civilization.
When I first received instructions to treat Dafa practitioners so harshly, I couldn't see any hope for our nation. I was in despair.
Reading the Nine Commentaries
I found a few copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party on a bench in our residential community one day. After I read the booklet, I could see the nature of the CCP more clearly. The Nine Commentaries exposes the historical root of our suffering during the history of the CCP. Thus, I gained a thorough understanding of the CCP's crimes and lies, and how it has distorted the country's history.
Under the CCP's rule, several generations have been living under its lies and have been ruled by its violence. We are brainwashed with atheism and live under pressure from the CCP. We hate the CCP but cannot express it openly. People hate one another, cheat one another, worship materialism, and have no moral values. There is no sincerity between people, only hypocrisy and deceit.
I was disheartened and depressed, living under such circumstances. However, after reading the Nine Commentaries, I now feel that all of the hardships will soon end because heaven will eliminate the CCP. China has hope now!
I gave the Nine Commentaries booklet to a practitioner who I had protected before. I asked her to read it carefully, because it was hard to get a copy at that time. I met her many times, and she kept telling me about Falun Dafa and the persecution. My family and I withdrew from the CCP and its youth organizations.
Benefiting from Dafa
I was fortunate to get a copy of Zhuan Falun from this practitioner. It opened up my heart after reading it. I was uplifted and saw hope for the future.
I no longer have pain in my back or legs, my body is light, and my mind is clear. I feel like a different person, and I am in high spirits.
My husband and I keep the words “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” in our hearts. He listens to Minghui radio programs and watches videos on the Minghui website. He also watches Shen Yun DVDs, and he has become optimistic and confident.
Sharing the Gift
He passes out informational materials about Falun Dafa to others, and wants them to benefit from the practice as well. He is not afraid of being caught by the authorities when he puts Dafa materials on cars and hangs them on people's front doors.
My husband used to have a heart problem and had an operation. He recently went for a check-up, and the doctor found that all of his results were normal. The whole family was excited. My husband said, “I have truly benefited from Dafa! I have truly benefited!”
My son even starting asking for informational materials about Dafa every time he came home. He said the CCP is so evil that it would certainly perish. He withdrew from the Party and its affiliated organizations.
We feel reborn and have found the direction for our salvation. We are no longer controlled by the Party and refuse to take part in any of its activities. We also refused to participate in security patrols organized by the Neighborhood Committee around the time of the CCP's 18th National Conference.
