(Minghui.org) A retired teacher from Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province has been detained in Beijing for more than three months. The police stated that Ms. Gu Yongmin's arrest was a result of her lawsuit against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin for launching the persecution of Falun Gong.
Ms. Gu went to visit her daughter in Beijing late last year and had plans to celebrate the Chinese New Year with her. She was grocery shopping one day when she was seized by a group of officers. Her daughter didn't find out about her whereabouts until three days later.
The police refused to release her or provide her family with any detention paperwork. She remains at Changping Detention Center following her arrest in mid-December.
Ms. Fu used to suffer from chronic hemorrhoids and abdominal adhesion. She also had to have her uterus removed to prevent a tumor from spreading. She was often in so much pain that she had to squat down in the middle of teaching class. Her symptoms, however, disappeared without a trace after she took up the practice of Falun Gong.
Having benefited so much from Falun Gong, Ms. Fu never shied away from telling people about her story. Now, however, she is in detention for seeking justice against Jiang for persecuting a life-changing practice.
