(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 34 cities or counties in 16 provinces. According to this report, 29 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 39 practitioners were illegally arrested.

Ms. Yao Shuhua, 62, and Mr. Yu Dianshan, 69, from the No. 7 Team in the Junchuan Farm, were arrested by the Junchuan Farm police on August 13, 2015 for suing Jiang Zemin. Both practitioners were sentenced to three years in prison in March 2016.
2. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Shang Huailing's Husband Beaten by Police
About twelve officers from the Fenghuang Police Station in the Fangzi New Area broke into Ms. Shang Huailing's home in Zhaojia Village on the afternoon of October 28, 2015. They planned to arrest her for suing Jiang Zemin, but Ms. Shang was not home. Her husband was resting at home due to his heart condition. Seeing that Ms. Shang was not there, the officers started to ransack her home. They confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun, an MP3 player, an audio player, two Shen Yun DVDs, and Ms. Shang's ID.
When Ms. Shang's husband tried to stop them, the officers pushed him to the floor and handcuffed him. It was not until white foam began coming from his mouth, and his life was in danger, that officers called an ambulance and had him taken to a hospital. It took over four hours of emergency rescue before he was out of danger. The medical expenses were over 1,000 yuan.
Ms. Shang has to stay away from home to avoid being persecuted.
3. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Cheng Sigui and Ms. Zhao Zhaoquan Tried
The Jiangyang District Court held a secret trial against two elderly practitioners, Ms. Cheng Sigui and Ms. Zhao Zhaoquan, in the Naxi Detention Center on March 31, 2016.
Ms. Cheng was arrested at home by Qiao Jianhua, a domestic security officer, on the morning of March 31, 2016. The night before, Ms. Zhao was tricked into going to the community office by a community official, who pretended to be interested in learning Falun Gong. She was kept in the community office overnight. She was taken to the Naxi Detention Center the following day and placed on trial.
4. [Beijing] Ms. Kang Lijun Faces Trial
The Daxing District Court scheduled a trial against Ms. Kang Lijun on the morning of April 14, 2016. Ms. Kang was arrested by officers from the Huangcun Town in the Daxing District at the end of October 2015. She has been held in the Daxing Detention Center.
5. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Han Ying Faces Trial
Ms. Han Ying faces trial on the morning of April 13, 2016.
6. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Four Practitioners' Sentences Upheld
Ms. Jiao Lili, Ms. Tu Yuchun, Ms. Meng Yurong, and Ms. Du Shuzhen appealed to the Lanzhou Intermediate Court after being sentenced to prison. After accepting the letters of authorization from lawyers representing the practitioners, the Lanzhou Intermediate Court simply upheld the original judgment in March 2016 without holding any hearing.
Ms. Tu and Ms. Jiao were each sentenced to eight years in prison, Ms. Meng to five years, and Ms. Du to three and a half years.
7. [Heyuan City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Cheng Shitian Arrested
Mr. Chen Shitian was arrested by officers from the Yuancheng District Police Department and the Domestic Security Division on April 9, 2016. His home was ransacked. The home of a practitioner with the last name Ou was also ransacked on the same day.
8. [Linzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Xing Fuying Arrested
Ms. Xing Fuying was arrested at home by the police on April 8, 2016.
9. [Yanbian City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jin Yingshi Detained
Ms. Jin Yingshi is held in the Helong Detention Center.
10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jiang Bing Detained
Ms. Jiang Bing from the Jiutai District was reported to the police when telling people about Falun Gong. She was arrested by officers from the Gongnong Police Station at noon on April 6, 2016. She is held in the Majiagangzi Detention Center in the Jiutai District. The police confiscated her cell phone and the cash she carried.
11. [Suining County, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Shao Kailian's Home Ransacked
Five or six officers from the Qiuji Police Station led by Zhao Wei, head of the Domestic Security Division, broke into Mr. Shao Kailian's home and ransacked it. They confiscated Falun Gong books, copies of Minghui Weekly, two VCD players, and a satellite receiver. They also took 5,930 yuan in cash, which Mr. Shao set aside to pay for treatment of his mother's illness. The total value of the items confiscated amounted to over 10,000 yuan.
12. [Bengbu City, Anhui Province] Mr. Wang Lei and Wife Ms. Zou Famin Detained
Mr. Wang Lei was arrested a month ago. His wife Ms. Zou Famin was also arrested on March 25, 2016. She is held in a brainwashing center. Their three children, a 12-year-old, a 10-year-old, and a 4-year-old, are now being cared for by their great grandfather, who is over 80 years old.
13. [Jing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Sun Mingying Arrested
Ms. Sun Mingying, in her 60s, from Dingmazhuang Village in Duqiao Town, was arrested at home by officers from the Duqiao Town Police Station at noon on April 8, 2016.
14. [Pingdingshan City, Henan Province] Mr. Zhang Xiaogai and Mr. Mai Jiezhai Arrested
Mr. Zhang Xiaogai and Mr. Mai Jiezhai were reported to the police when they talked to people about Falun Gong. Both practitioners were arrested and taken to the Guangming Road Police Station by officers from the 110 Response Unit on the morning of April 9, 2016. Fan Xiangqian, deputy director of the police station, and other officers took both practitioners to their homes and ransacked them that afternoon. Mr. Zhang was taken to the Xixie Detention Center that night. Mr. Mai has returned home.
15. [Tanghai County, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Lirong and Ms. Zhao Shuhua Detained
Ms. Liu Lirong and Ms. Zhao Shuhua from the Caofeidian District were arrested on April 5, 2016. Both practitioners are detained in the Luannan County Detention Center for 10 days.
16. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Liqun Detained
Ms. Li Liqun, in her 60s, was harassed at her home several times by officers from the Dongfeng Police Station for suing Jiang Zemin. She was arrested on March 23, 2016. She was detained for seven days in the Jinan City Detention Center.
17. [Liangshan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Xu Aihua Detained
Mr. Xu Aihua was arrested by officers from the Chengjiao Police Station on the morning of April 6, 2016. His home was ransacked. He was taken to the Jining Detention Center the same day. The police claimed that Mr. Xue was seen on the surveillance camera when he delivered and received Falun Gong informational materials.
18. [Xinbin County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lin Xiuqin Held in the Police Station
Ms. Lin Xiuqin and another practitioner from Shangjiahe Town were arrested by the police, in Baihua Village, Tangtu Township, Fushun County, when distributing Falun Gong informational materials on the morning of April 11, 2016. Currently, she is held in the Tangtu Township Police Station.
19. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Seven Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Wang Cuihua, Ms. Wang Xingxiang, Ms. Chen Guirong, Ms. Zhan Xiuhua, Ms. Wu Jinying, Ms. Chen Xiuying and Ms. Liu Fanrong were arrested by Lou Xingyan, Ge Xuquan, and other officers from the Domestic Security Division on the morning of April 9, 2016.

20. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhu Fengzhen and Daughter Ms. Li Ning Detained
Ms. Zhu Fengzhen and her daughter Ms. Li Ning were arrested at home by eight or nine police officers while they were studying Falun Gong teachings on the morning of March 8, 2016. The officers took photos of them and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, a copy of Zhuan Falun, Essentials for Further Advancement, other Falun Gong books, and a tape recorder. The officers took both mother and daughter to the Fuqiao Police Station for interrogation separately about suing Jiang Zemin. Both practitioners were detained for seven days.
21. [Guyuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Ms. Zhang Huifang Arrested
Ms. Zhang Huifang, 67, was arrested at home by two officers from the Yuanzhou District Police Department on the afternoon of April 7, 2016.
Yang Fuchun and other officers from the Domestic Security Division pressured Ms. Zhang to sign and fingerprint paperwork on March 2, 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin. She refused.

22. [Chongqing] Ms. Wang Dashu Arrested
Ms. Wang Dashu was arrested and taken to the Baishyi Police Station by the police on the morning of March 25, 2016. She was held there for nine hours. Afterward she was taken to the Rentuo Police Station for interrogation about her lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. She was released 21 hours later.
23. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Guo Shuxue and Mr. Chang Lichen Taken to Brainwashing Center
Several officers from the Minzhu Police Station in the Nancha District broke into Mr. Guo Shuxue's home and arrested him and Mr. Chang Lichen at noon on April 7, 2016. Both practitioners were taken to the Nancha District Police Department and then to the Yichun Brainwashing Center. The officers ransacked Mr. Guo's home that afternoon and extorted money from him. They confiscated Falun Gong books.

24. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Hongtao Severely Abused in Detention Center
Ms. Wang Hongtao, 69, is under severe abuse in the Beijing No. 2 Detention Center, which is also known as the Public Security Hospital. She was transferred there from the Fangshan Detention Center 37 days ago. She is severely injured, and her arm is broken.

25. [Tianjin] Ms. Mo Weiqiu Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Mo Weiqin from the Ninghe District was arrested on June 25, 2015. She was tried by the Ninghe District Court on December 2, 2015. The court sentenced her to four and a half years in prison on April 7, 2016. She is still held in the Ninghe District Detention Center.

Mr. Zheng Hui, Mr. Chen Zhong, and another practitioner, from the No. 122 Reclamation Group were held in the No. 1 Shihezi Detention Center. They will be tried at the No. 122 Reclamation Group Court on April 13, 2016.
28. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Tan Xinqing Arrested
Mr. Tan Xinqing was arrested by officers from the Xiaohan Police Station when telling people about Falun Gong on the street in Xiaohan Town on the morning of April 6, 2016. His whereabouts are unknown.
29. [Xiuwen County, Guizhou Province] Ms. Kong Dezhen Arrested
Ms. Kong Dezhen from Zhazuo Town was distributing Falun Gong informational materials on the morning of April 10, 2016. Lei Ming, a police officer from the Zhazuo Forest Farm Police Station, grabbed her printed materials. She was arrested at home by officers from the Zhazuo Town Police Station and the Forest Farm Police Station that afternoon.

Mr. Wang Xinnian was arrested at home by officers from the Lianhu Domestic Security Division on March 21, 2016.
31. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xie Guixiang and Another Practitioner Detained
Ms. Xie Guixiang and another practitioner with the last name Wang were reported to the police when distributing Falun Gong informational materials on April 10, 2016. Both practitioners were arrested. They are detained in the Dehui Detention Center for 15 days.
32. [Chongqing] Ms. Tang Yingxue Taken to Brainwashing Center
Ms. Tang Yingxue, a retired teacher from the Taihe Middle School in the Hechuan District, was arrested and taken to the Wuzun Brainwashing Center on March 26, 2016 when she removed display boards slandering Falun Gong.
33. [Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wu Songmei and Ms. Luo Suhua Arrested
Ms. Wu Songmei and Ms. Luo Suhua from the Jiangcheng District were arrested at home by officers from the Pinggang Police Station in the Gaoxin District on April 10, 2016.
34. [Chongqing] Eight Practitioners Arrested
Eight practitioners were arrested by the Hechuan District police when they studied Falun Gong teachings at Ms. Nan Tailian's home on April 6, 2016. Among them are Ms. Nan, Ms. Tang Mingbi, Mr. Pu Yuansheng, and Mr. Gong Yuanzhao.
Ms. Nan's home was ransacked. The eight practitioners are all held in the Wuzun Brainwashing Center. Mr. Gong was released the following day after he failed to pass the physical exam.
35. [Jingning County, Gansu Province] Mr. Lu Jiangsu Arrested
Mr. Lu Jiangsu was displaced for 12 years. On April 9, 2016, he was arrested in Yinchuan City Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, by He Xuefeng, head of the Jingning County Domestic Security Division, and other officers. He was brought back to Jingning County.
36. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Dong Jianquan Arrested
Mr. Dong Jianquan was arrested at his friend's home by plainclothes officers on the afternoon of March 31, 2016. He was taken to the Yinfeng Police Station. He was released that evening.
37. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhu Xiaolu Remains Detained
Ms. Zhu Xiaolu was arrested in early March 2016. She has been held in the Jining City Detention Center.
38. [Julu County, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Diankui's Home Ransacked
Police officers broke into Mr. Zhang Diankui's home at Chaicheng Village in Yantong Town on April 6, 2016. They questioned Mr. Zhang about his lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. The officers went to Mr. Zhang's home three days in a row. On April 8, they ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Gong books, printed materials, and a lettering plate.
39. [Sanmenxia City, Henan Province] Ms. Shi Fendang Sentenced to Prison
The Hubin District Court put Ms. Shi Fendang on trial without notifying her family and sentenced her to four years in prison. Ms. Shi was taken to the Xinxiang Women's Prison.
Ms. Shi was arrested by officers from the Xiaoshan Road Police Station when she talked to people about Falun Gong in July 2015.
