(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners from Hiroshima, Japan, held a series of activities at the Peace Memorial Park this summer, telling tourists all over the world about the persecution in China. They collected signatures to support the movement to prosecute former dictator Jiang Zemin for launching the persecution.

One of the signature drives was held when the Japanese Prime Minister, his cabinet, and representatives from 91 countries attended the ceremony on August 6, which marked the 71st anniversary of the atomic bombing.

During the memorial of the atomic bombing, tourists sign the petition to condemn the persecution of Falun Gong in China.

Tourists showed compassion and support for Falun Gong. One young man said, “The persecution of Falun Gong is like a replay of what the Nazis did in Germany.” Another man said,“If we Japanese don't speak out against such brutal persecution, Japan, as a nation, is lacking the concept of human rights.”

Another noteworthy signature collection was held in June, at which many tourists from Europe and America signed the petition.

A Russian young man and his Japanese wife learned the Falun Gong exercises after signing the petition.

Similar campaigns have been held in other Japanese cities.

At one of the events in front of the Planetarium in Kagoshima Prefecture, a Japanese lady told Falun Gong practitioners, “I signed your petition in 2008, right before the Beijing Olympics. In 2013, I signed again to condemn the state-sanctioned organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners in China. Today is the third time I am signing to support you. Nobody would imagine that the persecution would last so long. The communist party is really brutal. You've been doing a great job.” She also encouraged her daughter to sign the petition.

According to Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang from Osaka, not only Western and Japanese tourists showed support, but also many Chinese tourists condemned the persecution. Many of them also decided to withdraw their memberships in the Communist Party.

Ms. Zhang often comes to the local tourist spot, Osaka Castle, to tell Chinese tourists what Falun Gong really is and how brutal the persecution has been. Sometimes, she is able to help dozens of Chinese to quit the Communist Party.

Some tourists and tour guides had misunderstandings about Falun Gong. Once, a tour guide cursed Ms. Zhang and asked her if this is the only way she could make a living. Ms. Zhang told him she is a volunteer.

“I am just trying to tell you what Falun Gong really is. Nobody pays me,” Ms. Zhang said to the guide. She also explained that it is for others' best interest that she encourages people to quit the Party.

The guide changed his attitude, although he didn't quit the Party right away. Later, Ms. Zhang ran into him again. She told him more details about the crimes that the Party committed in history. Eventually, the guide agreed to quit, and thanked Ms. Zhang for her help.
