(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 47 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 18 were illegally arrested.

1. [Tianjin] Mr. Liu Huan and Ms. Zhao Liping Sentenced to Three-year Prison Terms
Ms. Liu Huan and Ms. Zhao Liping of Jinghai County were arrested in early 2015 by officers from the Jinghai County Police Station, for telling people about Falun Gong. The Jinghai County Court recently sentenced them to three-year prison terms.
2. [Daxinganling Prefecture, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Yang Zongbo Sentenced to One-year Prison Term
Mr. Yang Zongbo was arrested and taken to the Tahe County Detention Center on January 18, 2016. He was recently sentenced to a one year prison term.
3. [Beijing] Three Practitioners Facing Trial
The Changping District Court has scheduled trials for three practitioners. Mr. Chen Junjie will be tried on August 2, 2016, Ms. Yuan Wen on August 8, and Mr. Che Yong on August 9.
4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Hong Formally Arrested
Mr. Wang Hong was arrested on June 28, 2016. The arrest warrant was issued on July 21, 2016.
5. [Luyi County, Henan Province] Three Practitioners Facing Trial
Ms. Shi Yongjun, 53, Ms. Dai Xiuzhi, in her sixties, and Mr. Li Guoliang, a disabled person in his forties, were arrested on December 31, 2015. They were taken to the Luyi County Detention Center. Luyi County Court is preparing to put them on trial.
6. [Daxinganling Prefecture, Heilongjiang Province] Two Practitioners Arrested
Jiagedaqi District practitioners Ms. Yu Qin, in his sixties, and Ms. Qu Shuyun, 85, were arrested by plainclothes officers for distributing Falun Gong materials on the afternoon of July 29, 2016. They were taken to the Weidong Police Station, then transferred to the Jiagedaqi District Police Department. Ms. Qu was released during the night. Her home was ransacked, and her Falun Gong books and pictures of the founder of Falun Gong were confiscated. Ms. Yu is still being detained.
7. [Yiyang City, Hunan Province] Four Practitioners Detained
Mr. Pi Donghua, Ms. Liu Liyun, Mr. Chen Xiaohui, and Ms. Li Xiantao, from Nan County were arrested for distributing Falun Gong informational materials on the afternoon of July 20, 2016 by officers from the Mingshan Police Station. They were taken to the Nan County Detention Center. Ms. Liu and Mr. Chen were transferred to the Yiyang City No. 2 Detention Center on July 28, 2016 by officers from the Nan County 610 Office.
8. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Huang Yuqing Detained
Ms. Huang Yuqing, 55, is a nurse in the No. 1 Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Province Medical University. She was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Hupo Police Station for distributing Falun Gong informational materials on July 15, 2016. She was first held in a detention center for administrative detention. When her detention term expired on July 28, she was picked up by officers from the Hupo Police Station and given criminal detention. The officers forced her family to sign the detention warrant.
9. [Beijing] Mr. Yang Jidi Arrested
Mr. Yang Jidi of Mapiying Village, Shenjiaying Township, Yanqing County was arrested for distributing Falun Gong materials on the morning of July 23, 2016. Jiang Shuliang, chief of the county Domestic Security Division, along with agents from the county 610 Office and five officers from the Shenjiaying Police Station, ransacked Mr. Yang's home, and confiscated more than 20 Falun Gong books and materials. Mr. Yang was released in the afternoon after being held at the Shenjiaying Police Station for more than three hours.
10. [Jiaozhuo City, Henan Province] Mr. Zhang Zhe Detained
Mr. Zhang Zhe is being held in the Jiaozhuo City Detention Center.
11. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Xiuling Harassed
Ms. Wang Xiuling of Jiuduhe Village, Jiuduhe Town, Huairou District, was recently harassed by agents from the local government, 610 Office, and police station. She was interrogated, and the officers demanded that she sign a guarantee statement promising to give up Falun Gong.
12. [Jiaozhuo City, Henan Province] Practitioners Arrested for Suing Jiang Zemin
About 20 practitioners from Mengzhou City have been arrested for suing Jiang Zemin since the end of 2015. Jiang is the former head of the Chinese communist regime who initiated and directed the persecution of Falun Gong.
The arrested practitioners include Ms. Song Zhenhua, Ms. He Yun, Ms. Tang Fengxian, Ms. Liu Aixiang, Tang (family name), Dang (family name), and Ms. Zhang Neng.
13. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Zhao Chungui Given Unknown Drugs
Mr. Zhao Chungui, 62, from Jianchaoping District, was arrested in December 2015. He was held in a local detention center, where guards laced his meal with unknown drugs. He subsequently had symptoms including dim vision. He was transferred to the No. 15 Ward in Jinzhong Prison in May 2016.
14. [Pingliang City, Gansu Province] Five Practitioners Arrested
Mr. Ru Tingxiao was arrested on November 25, 2015 by officer Luo Fumin and others from the Huasuo Township Police Station. The officers ransacked his home, confiscated 36 Falun Gong books, and more than 300 other types of Falun Gong informational materials.
Ms. Zhu Xiuhua, Ms. Tian Xiuping, and Mr. Zhang Zhenguo were arrested at the same time. Each one was given a 15 day detention, and the officers extorted 300 yuan in cash.
Ms. Yang Yinfeng was arrested on December 15, 2015 by officer Yan Tao and others from the Baishui Town Police Station. She was detained for 15 days, and the officers extorted 1,000 yuan in cash. She was detained again for an hour by officer Zhu Yongqin on April 13, 2016, who also extorted 1,000 yuan.
15. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Du Hongjun Detained
Mr. Du Hongjun of Huanggu District was arrested on the evening of June 28, 2016 by officers from the Huanggu District Police Department. The officers ransacked his home, confiscated a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, a computer, a printer, a recorder, an MP3 player, and a cell phone. He was taken to the Shenbei New District Detention Center. Family visits are denied.
16. [Xishui County, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Liu Guizhen and several other practitioners were arrested in Ms. Liu's home on July 18, 2016 by officers from the Guankou Town Police Station. The officers ransacked the home, and confiscated her Falun Gong books, informational materials, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, a Falun emblem, and more than 30,000 yuan in cash.
Ms. Liu, Ms. Wan Qiuming, and Mr. Zhu Yutao were taken to the Guankou Town Police Station, and then transferred to the Xishui County old detention center, where Feng Aiguo, head of the county 610 Office interrogated them.
Ms. Liu was released after her eldest son guaranteed the she would no longer practice Falun Gong. Ms. Wan and Mr. Zhu were detained for five days in a new detention center, and were forced to sign documents. Their fingerprints were taken before they were released.
17. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Guo Yuwei Arrested
Ms. Guo Yuwei was arrested at home on the morning of June 27, 2016 by officers from the Minkanglu Police Station. The officers confiscated his Falun Gong books and music discs. He was taken to the Weizigou Detention Center, and released due to his health condition.

18. [Linzhou City, Henan Province] Mr. Li Rujin Harassed
Mr. Li Rujin was harassed at home on July 13, 2016 by Fang Ansheng, instructor, and Yang Yiguo, deputy director, from the Linzhou Domestic Security Division.

19. [Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province] Many Practitioners Sentenced to Prison and Brainwashing Centers
According to incomplete statistics, the practitioners sentenced between 2003 and 2016 were Mr. Wang Duo (four years), Mr. Zhao Jun (four years), Mr. Gu Jinhe (four years), Ms. Chen Cuiyu (four years), Ms. Shen Lanxiang (three-and-a-half years), Ms. Liu Ruiming (three years), Ms. Lan Chen (three years), Mr. Zhu Jianxing (one year of forced Labor), Ms. Qian Zhenying (five years), and Mr. Lu Shoujing (five years).
The following practitioners were taken to brainwashing centers: Mr. Wang Duo, Mr. Su Hua, Ms. Yu Cuihua, Ms. Yang Yuan, Ms. Liu Ruimin, Ms. Gu Jinhe, Mr. Yuan Aihua, Ms. Qian Zhiling, Ms. Chen Cuiyu, Mr. Wang Huiru, and Ms. Huang Meilin.
Ms. Chen Cuiyu was arrested on December 7, 2015, and taken to the Tinghu District Detention Center.
20. [Yichang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chen Jizhen and Ms. Tan Jiazhen Arrested
Ms. Chen Jizhen and Ms. Tan Jiazhen were arrested on July 25, 2016 by Yu Zhihao, deputy chief, and Liu Dingxue, officer, of the Xiling District Domestic Security Division, for telling people about Falun Gong.
Both practitioners were taken to the Xiling Police Department and released that night. Yu transferred their case files to the court, although they could not be imprisoned due to high blood pressure.

21. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Lei Weifeng Facing Trial
Mr. Lei Weifeng was arrested by officers from the Shijing Town Police Station for telling people about Falun Gong on May 4, 2016. He has been detained in the Fei County Detention Center.

22. [Daqing City, Helongjiang Province] Mr. Chen Yicai Arrested
Mr. Chen Yicai of Yinlang Xincheng was arrested in the early morning of July 31, 2016. Police also took his family members to the police department for questioning. Mr. Chen was detained for ten days in the Ranghulu Detention Center. Guards extorted 760 yuan from his family.
