(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 23 cities or counties in 14 provinces. According to this report, 22 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 28 were illegally arrested.

1. [Nanping City, Fujian Province] Ms. Zhu Ziyu and Ms. Wei Zijing Arrested
Ms. Zhu Ziyu and Ms. Wei Zijing were arrested by patrol officers from the Xianyang Police Station for talking about Falun Gong in the Xianyang Town Farmers Market on August 16, 2016. The officers confiscated their Falun Gong informational materials.
Both practitioners were taken to the police department. Ms. Zhu was released that evening. Ms. Wei was taken to the Wuyishan Detention Center and released after failing the physical examination.
2. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Ma Liming Whereabouts Unknown
Mr. Ma Liming, 43, an employee of the Long County Government, went to Matai Town August 10, 2016. The police tracked him down by monitoring his cell phone. He was arrested by local domestic security officers. His whereabouts are unknown.
3. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yan Shuwei Detained
Mr. Yan Shuwei was arrested on August 30, 2016. He is being held in the Guan County Detention Center.
4. [Chongqing] Ms. Qiu Shengshu Arrested
Ms. Qiu Shengshu, 77, from Liangshan Town, Liangping County, was arrested by Fuping Township security officers on August 8, 2016, for telling people the facts about Falun Gong. She was taken to the Liangshan Town Comprehensive Management Office. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books, an MP3 player, and an amplifier. She was released that day.
5. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Cui Jingru Detained
Ms. Cui Jingru was arrested on August 29, 2016. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to the Weizigou Detention Center for 15 days of detention.
6. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Sun Dekun and Ms. Xing Anmei Facing Trial
Mr. Sun Dekun and Ms. Xing Anmei were arrested on April 14, 2016. Their homes were ransacked. Both practitioners are facing a trial.
Ms. Xing is being held in the Shenyang No. 1 Detention Center. She suffers high blood pressure, low potassium, and is weak. Eating is not easy, as she no longer has her denture.
Mr. Sun was taken to the Dadong District Detention Center. He suffers asthma and relies on oxygen to sustain his life.
7. [Fuyu County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zuo Chuanxin Monitored and Harassed
Mr. Zuo Chuanxin, from Erdaowan Town, was detained for seven days in mid-August 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese Communist Party leader, who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong.
He returned to his former work unit in Zhejiang Province. The local police continued to harass him. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated his computer on August 25. The officers did not find anything they could have used as evidence when searching his computer. They pressured Mr. Zuo's work unit to fire him. He was forced to return to his home in Erdaowan Town in Heilongjiang Province on August 30, 2016. The officers from the Erdaowan Police Station monitor and harass him daily.

8. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Lihui's Arrest Approved
Ms. Zhang Lihui, 49, from Naxi District, was arrested on August 7, 2016, for telling people the facts about Falun Gong. She was held in the Naxi Detention Center. Her arrest was approved on August 19.
Ms. Zhang had been detained three times and incarcerated for three years.
9. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Several Practitioners Arrested
A group of officers from the Sandian Police Station in the Qingyunpu District broke into Ms. Luo Yinhua's home on the afternoon of September 3, 2016. They arrested about seven practitioners who were studying the Falun Gong teachings together. Ms. Luo is in her 80s.
10. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zheng Ziqiang Arrested
Mr. Zheng Ziqiang was arrested at home by domestic security officers on September 3, 2016.
11. [Dingzhou City, Hebei Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Liang Junying from Fodian Village was arrested by officers from the Dongwang Town Police Station on August 4, 2016, for telling people the facts about Falun Gong and distributing Falun Gong informational materials. She has returned home.
Ms. Bian Lingzhi, from Shengfotou Village, Haotouzhuang Township, was arrested by officers from the Haotouzhuaang Township Police Station for distributing Falun Gong materials in Tangjiazhuang area on August 17, 2016. The officers took herfingerprints. She has returned home.
Ms. An Gaifeng and Ms. Hou Yan, from Matou Village, Haotouzhuang Township, were arrested by officers from the Dongting Town Police Station on August 17, 2016. The officers took the fingerprints of one of the practitioners and extorted 500 yuan from the other. Both practitioners were released.

12. [Shanghai] Three Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Xu Lin, Ms. Yin Zhiying, and Ms. Sun Wenjuan were arrested on August 31, 2016.
13. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Liu Guangli Taken to Brainwashing Center
Ms. Liu Guangli was arrested for suing Jiang Zemin, and taken to the Tangang Brainwashing Center on August 31, 2016.
14. [Yongning County, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Several Practitioners Arrested
Several practitioners were harassed and arrested on September 2, 2016. Among them, Mr. Nan Yongsheng, Ms. Su Qingling, Mr. Wang Shihe, and Ms. Sun were arrested by officers from the Chengguan Police Station.
Mr. Ren and his wife, Ms. Ma Xiaofeng, Ms. Zhu Haiyan, Mr. Yang Zhanlin, Mr. Li Zhining, and Mr. Wu Shangcheng were released after photos and blood samples were taken.
The police ransacked Ms. Ma's home and confiscated a notebook computer. They also ransacked Mr. Ren's home and confiscated a printer, a computer, Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings.

15. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Over 20 Practitioners Arrested
On the morning of September 1, 2016, under the order of the 610 Office, the police carried out a large scale arrest of practitioners and ransacked their homes.
The arrested practitioners included Mr. Liu and his wife from Gaoping District. The officers ransacked their home and confiscated a large amount of currency, Falun Gong books, two computers, several printers, and other personal belongings. Ms. Yang, who was visiting at the time, was also arrested.
The police also ransacked homes of Mr. Chen Zhengguo, Mr. Hu Xuehua, and Ms. Deng Liangxiu. They confiscated their Falun Gong books and other personal belongings.
The officers broke into Mr. Chen Xin's home in the Shunqing District and ransacked it. They handcuffed Mr. Chen and arrested him.
16. [Suizhong County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Pei Lijia Arrested
Ms. Pei Lijia was arrested on the morning of September 1, 2016, by domestic security officers.

17. [Lishu County, Jilin Province] Five Practitioners Whereabouts Unknown
Ms. Gai Ling, in her 30s, was followed by officers from the Lishu County Domestic Security Division around June 16, 2016. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Three female practitioners, from the Baishan Township, the Xiaoquanyan area, Lishu County, went missing on separate occasions around June 16, 2016. They are all in their 60s. Their whereabouts are unknown.
Mr. Ma Chi's home was ransacked on August 31, 2016. His computer was confiscated. His whereabouts are unknown.
18. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liang Cuirong Sentenced to Prison
The Jinshantun District Court sentenced 68-year-old Ms. Liang Cuirong to seven-and-a-half years in prison and fined her 10,000 yuan on the afternoon of August 24, 2016.
19. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Gu Yinghua Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Gu Yinghua from Heping District was arrested on June 15, 2015. The Heping District Court sentenced her to a six year prison term on June 15, 2016.
20. [Beijing] Ms. Ma Fengqin Arrested
Ms. Ma Fengqin was arrested on September 2, 2016 by officers from the Yongding Road Police Station. Her home was ransacked.
21. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Guangsheng Detained
The deputy director and two officers from the Hehuashan Town Police Station in Zhuanghe City broke into Mr. Zhang Guangsheng's home in Guojia Village on the morning of August 30, 2016. They tried to coerce Mr. Zhang's wife Ms. Zhong Shuqin to fingerprint a document in which she renounces Falun Gong. She refused to do so. The officers then ransacked her home. They confiscated Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. Ms. Zhong was taken to the police station. Mr. Zhang went to the police station to ask for her release. The police arrested him and released his wife.
22. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Hao Lin and Ms. Zhang Mingfeng Detained
Ms Hao Lin and Ms. Zhang Mingfeng were arrested when hanging a “Falun Dafa is good” banner at a tourist site on August 27, 2016. They are held in the Dayi County Detention Center.
23. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Detained
Ms. Wang Wei, Ms. Guan Yan, and Ms. Xu Shuqin was arrested by officers from the Xinming Police Station for talking about Falun Gong in the Dayu Residential Community on August 26, 2016. Ms. Wang was given a 15 day detention, Ms. Guan and Ms. Xu were each given a 13 day detention.
24. [Chongqing] Ms. Cheng Degui Taken to Brainwashing Center
Liu Zhijun, officer from the Jiangjin Police Department, and seven 610 Office officers broke into Ms. Cheng Degui's home and ransacked it on August 12, 2016. They confiscated two copies of Zhuan Falun, truth-clarification booklets, and other personal belongings. Ms. Cheng, in her 70s, was taken to the Jiangjin Brainwashing Center.
He Xiuhong, an officer, threatened Ms. Cheng to sentence her to prison if she refused to tell the source of the printed materials or refused to renounce Falun Gong. He also injured Ms. Cheng's head. Ms. Cheng was released after she signed a document stating that she renounced Falun Gong.
25. [Taihe County, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhang Yunxia Detained
Three officers from the Taihe County Domestic Security Division and director of the Zhaoji Police Station broke into Ms. Zhang Yunxia's home on August 12, 2016. Ms. Zhang was arrested and taken to the Taihe County Detention Center. A notice of detention was issued that day. No family visits have been allowed.
Ms. Zhang was arrested on June 29, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin. The detention center refused to admit her because she failed the physical examinations. She was released. Police ransacked her home a week later. She was not at home at the time.

26. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Wu Fengzhen Fired
The Nanchang City 610 Office demanded that officials from the Nanchang City No. 1 Hospital force Ms. Wu Fengzhen to renounce Falun Gong in early 2016. Ms. Wu refused to cooperate. The hospital suspended Ms. Wu's salary in March 2016 and fired her.
