Hong Kong Police Show Support for Falun Gong Despite CCP Pressure

September 29, 2016 |

(Minghui.org) I once went to Hong Kong to participate in a march against the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong. My non-practitioner daughter was on vacation from work, so both of us went to Hong Kong together.

Falun Gong practitioners from different countries held a large group practice at the seaside the next morning. Several hundreds of us did the sitting meditation together. Listening to the melodious exercise music, I almost reached deep tranquility.

Suddenly, a woman from the Hong Kong Youth Care Association Limited (a CCP-backed organization) cursed us loudly. I had gotten used to this kind of thing, as I often took part in Falun Gong activities in Hong Kong and had learned to not let these occurrences bother me.

Later, I heard two people quarreling. I heard a familiar voice say, “I don't practice Falun Gong. But what's wrong if these practitioners are practicing here? Why do you curse them? They're not bothering you!”

I stood up as soon as I knew it was my daughter. I grabbed my daughter and said, “They come here to make trouble. They don't follow the rules. Just leave them alone.”

My daughter said, “They are bullying you! I can't tolerate that.”

The woman from the Youth Care Association then shouted repeatedly, “A Falun Gong practitioner assaulted me!” Two police officers came over and asked what had happened.

My daughter said, “Everyone here is a witness. Who hit her? These people are despicable!” She then told the police what had happened. One police officer said, “They are just troublemakers. But it would be best if you left soon.”

My daughter was impressed with the Hong Kong police officers. She was touched by their implicit support for Dafa and later told her friends and others whenever she got the opportunity.

She asked me later, “The Hong Kong police are so upright. Why do they allow the thugs from the Youth Care Association to make trouble?”

I answered, “They are under control of the CCP behind the scenes. Under this political system, what can the police in Hong Kong do?”

My daughter sighed, “It's a pity that Hong Kong has changed like this. How good it would be if things could have stayed like they were before.”

Background

Hong Kong was handed back to China's control in 1997 under the “One country, two systems” policy. However, since China has taken control, Hong Kong has gradually changed under the Communist Party's infiltration and intimidation. The Hong Kong Youth Care Association is an organization controlled by the 610 Office that carries out the persecution of Falun Gong in China.
