(Minghui.org) Ms. Du Xue in Zhengzhou City was tried by the Jinshui District Court on August 12, 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese communist regime, for initiating the persecution of Falun Gong.

Ms. Du was brought to court in handcuffs and shackles. Her family had difficulty recognizing her. She was thin, and her hair had turned white.

The prosecutor said Ms. Du had signed a confession. Ms. Du said, “You prepared the document and forced me to sign it in a dark room. Police ransacked my house and arrested me without any legal documentation. You are breaking the law.”

Ms. Du's attorney argued that the suppression of Falun Gong has no legal basis.

“Ms. Du benefited from practicing Falun Gong,” said Ms. Du's attorney. “She did not harm others or society. It is the police who violated the law. The evidence submitted by the prosecutor cannot prove the charges and should not be considered.”

Police Threatens Son

Ms. Du was arrested at home on November 13, 2015. The police ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books, four cell phones, and other personal belongings.

She was taken to Jinshui District Detention Center and later transferred to Zhengzhou City No. 3 Detention Center.

Officers questioned Ms. Du's son and tried to get the names of other Falun Gong practitioners who were in contact with Ms. Du. They also threatened her son not to hire an attorney from Beijing or tell others about the content of their conversations.
