(Minghui.org) It had been a long time since I had experienced any substantial improvement in my cultivation practice. I didn't know why I was in this state, so I comforted myself with the thought, “Since our character improvement has reached the surface, it's natural that our improvement will slow down.”

When my wife recently asked me to do some household chores, I complained to myself that she was lazy. I suddenly realized that I had been in that state of mind for the entire 10 years that we've been married!

It seems that I've always paid too much attention to gain and loss. If others respected me, I would respect them.

At work, I wanted things to be equal for everyone, and at home, I'd be happy to clean the dishes, if my wife cooked me a meal. If she did less work than I did, I would complain to myself that she wasn't being fair.

Upon noticing this ingrained, complaining mentality, I decided to eliminate it.

The next day, I received a call from my workshop supervisor—while I was busy preparing for a meeting. He asked me to solve a technical issue that had just come up.

In the past, I had always arranged for another person to do this task, however, this individual was away on a business trip.

So, I had to resolve the matter myself, even though I had a meeting within one hour and I wasn't ready.

I was just about to complain to myself, when I noticed my negative state of mind. Instead of complaining, I simply went to my workshop to solve the problem.

After I was done, I noticed that I still had enough time to prepare for the meeting. I was delighted and felt that genuine cultivation is great!

Later, I chatted with a colleague who said, “Playing table tennis requires certain techniques. Those who don't practice these techniques remain at a low level for a long time, and eventually they lose interest in the sport.

“However, those who practice the techniques, constantly improve, and their interest in the sport grows exponentially.”

Upon hearing this, I enlightened to the fact that when we first started practicing Dafa, many supernatural principles were revealed to us, and all of our lifelong questions were answered.

We were very excited to have found what we were looking for, including improved health. Naturally, we were diligent in our cultivation practice.

So, if we ever feel stuck, or that our xinxing improvement is barely noticeable, it means that we need to look within, study the Fa, and improve our heart and mind nature. When we do that, we'll definitely feel the joy of cultivation!

If we remain stuck for too long, our will to diligently cultivate ourselves will wane, making it increasingly hard to get ourselves back on track.
