(Minghui.org) I went out to clarify the facts about Falun Gong in a nearby township, which happens to be the hometown of several high-ranking military officers. I found that there are still some people who do not know the real story about Falun Gong and are afraid to accept our materials. However, a lot of people do not believe the government propaganda and slander about Falun Gong. I would like to share some personal experiences about encounters with people in this area.
“I’ll help you hand them out”
Once, I saw a group of people putting up wire mesh on the sides of a railway bridge culvert. I walked over and started to talk to two of them about Falun Gong.
They started reading the materials that I gave them right away. A middle-aged man soon agreed to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
I then asked the other man who looked slightly older if he was a CCP member. He said yes, and told me that he'd already quit CCP with the help of a Falun Gong practitioner.
I walked to the other side of the railway tracks and talked to two other workers.
To my surprise, while I was talking, the slightly older man came over and said to me, “These workers are my subordinates. There are twelve of them here. You can give me 12 copies of your materials and I’ll help you hand them out. We’re going to take a break soon, and we can read them in the dormitories.”
I told him that I also had some DVDs and asked if they would like to watch them too. He was very keen to do so, and asked if I had a DVD player with me.
He looked really disappointed when I told him that I did not bring one with me. “I'll just give my superior some materials then,” he said with regret.
“Oh, it’s about Falun Gong. Good!”
Once, I saw two people working in the fields. I handed out a copy of truth-clarification material to the one who was spraying insecticide. He looked at the cover and shook his head. I then handed the material to the older man, who was hoeing. He asked me, “Is it about Falun Gong?”
When I said yes, the old man became very excited and said, “Oh, It’s about Falun Gong. Good!” He kept repeating “good” as he put the materials carefully in his pocket.
“Please be careful!”
I saw several young people chatting outside a shop, so I walked up and handed them some materials. They started to read them immediately.
I noticed a man in the shop and walked in to give him a copy, as well.
He looked at the materials and said sternly, “How dare you, handing out such materials in broad daylight!”
I said to him calmly, “You seem to have some misunderstanding about Falun Gong. Nowadays, the whole world knows Falun Gong is good. Jiang Zemin slandered Falun Gong to persecute good people. You will understand the facts if you read the materials.”
“Don’t talk to me like that!” he went on, “Do you know what I do?”
“Are you a policeman?” I asked. He said no. “Do you work for the 610 Office?” I asked again. He did not give me a direct answer, but asked me if I knew about the 610 Office and how powerful it was.
I said to him, “Every Falun Gong practitioner knows about the 610 Office. You should know that Falun Gong actually teaches people to be good citizens.”
Just then, one of the young men who received a copy of materials earlier walked in and said to the man, “Falun Gong used to distribute materials at nighttime, how come they are so brave as to hand them out in broad daylight now?”
I told them more about Falun Gong and how I recovered from cancer through the practice. I also told them that I came out to clarify the facts because I feel so grateful to our Master, and because we have done nothing wrong in practicing Falun Gong.
One shopper said to me quietly, “The persecution of Falun Gong in this area is very severe, and very few people dare to come out to speak up for Falun Gong. You’d better leave here quickly. Please be careful!” I thanked him for his kindness and continued on my way.
“Boss, you’re already reading this?”
I saw two people at a construction site and walked over and handed a copy of Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party to the one who looked slightly older.
He was shocked and said to me, “You dare to hand this out? You could be put into prison!”
I encouraged him, “I have no fear of handing out these materials. Surely you are brave enough to read it. What’s there to be afraid of? This book is now widely circulated around the world. Many people seek it out.”
He took the copy with shaking hands, put it on the step of a forklift truck and got into the driver’s seat, as if he was waiting for the younger worker to walk away.
I then went to the office at the front of the construction site and handed a copy of the Nine Commentaries to a man who looked to be in charge.
Just as I was leaving, the man from the truck rushed over with the copy I'd given him earlier and said to the man in the office, “Boss, so you are already reading it?”
“I don’t like the Communist Party”
I went over to talk to two men who were chatting by the roadside. One man said, “I don’t like the Communist Party, but I joined the Youth League before. I’ll quit it.”
He also accepted some truth-clarification materials and a DVD and left with a look of satisfaction on his face.
